Vecom Philippines' First Marketing Campaign
30 August 2012 · S&L Building, Roxas Boulevard, ManilaVecom Sales Team, accompanied by their General Manager, attended the monthly meeting of the 104 Squadron of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA), held at S&L Building, Roxas Boulevard, Manila.
The invitation came from the PCGA Squadron Director, Capt. Oscar Bayombong, who endorsed and provided the Vecom Marine Chemicals Philippines Sales Team the opportunity to present the product and its uses that correspond with one of the PCGA advocacies for cleaner seas free from oil pollution, and prevention or control of oil spills.
The Vecom Marine presentation on oil spill prevention and control highlighted the endeavors and goals of the Philippine Coast Guard oil spill response through the National Oil Spill Contingency Plan, in view of the alarming rate of oil spill incidents in the Philippines in recent decades.
Vecom Marine's General Manager, in his follow-up to the presentation, stressed the relevant law, Presidential Decrees and Memorandum Circulars, and the mandatory requirement of having oil spill kits and dispersant on board each commercial vessel, both local and international. The role of the PCGA per its memorandum agreement with the Philippine Coast Guard was also discussed, particularly its role and participation in vessel inspection — oil spill kits and equipment being part of the checklist and requirements for strict compliance, in order to preserve our natural resources, especially the seas, in combating and preventing further damage caused by oil spills.
The marketing campaign was considered a success, with many squadron members requesting company brochures and contact details for further consultation on the products and their relevance to their operations.
