A comprehensive kit for potable water testing, including a turbidity tube (graduated 30–500 turbidity units, with an optional double-length tube for 5–25 units) and dip slides for detecting TTC/E.coli & coliforms and TTC/Pseudomonas — useful for confirming whether conditions in a water system might encourage bacterial growth.
Turbidity test: hold the tube vertically over a white surface, pour in the sample until the black cross is no longer visible, and read the graduation. Rinse the tube after each use. Dip slides: after sampling, incubate at 30°C for 48 hours to get an accurate, repeatable reading — a lower incubation temperature can give a false low reading and delay needed treatment, while too high a temperature can accelerate growth artificially.
