A heavy-duty scale and rust remover in liquid form, suitable for diesel engine cooling water systems, boilers, evaporators, condensers and similar equipment. Complies with MARPOL 73/17 Annex II guidelines under Resolution MEPC 295(71).
If deposits are covered in oil or grease, degrease first with a 2–8% solution of Tankclean Alkaline, Carbon Remover NC or Seaclean Voyage, circulated 4–6 hours at 60°C. Then circulate a 5–10% solution of Descaling Liquid Extra in water for 1–4 hours for hardness scale, or 10–20 hours for iron oxide scale, depending on the deposit. Vent the circuit at the highest point; heating to 40°C speeds the process. Check acid concentration regularly and regenerate by adding more product if it drops below half strength. Soaking follows the same steps and strengths.
5–10% by weight in water for descaling; 2–8% for the pre-descaling degreasing step.
Usually available in 25 L plastic cans and 200 L plastic drums.
