Hardness Control Liquid

Maintains the boiler's optimum phosphate levels to avoid scale and corrosion.

Product Description

Applications

Added to boiler water to maintain the optimum phosphate level. Under these conditions, calcium and magnesium hardness salts can't form, and any precipitate is removed by blowdown. This product is part of Vecom's coordinated treatment programme and should not be combined with a different treatment.

Directions for Use

For best results, dose directly into the boiler via a by-pass pot feeder installed in the boiler feed line.

Dosage

Initial dosage for untreated water is 200 mL per tonne of water, adjusted to the recommended phosphate levels, checked with the Vecom Test Kit Phosphate.

Control Limits

  • Hardness: zero
  • Phosphate: 20–40 ppm (low-pressure boiler)
  • Phosphate: 10–30 ppm (high-pressure boiler)
