Used for removal of mud and silt from ballast water tanks.
A liquid organic polyelectrolyte conditioner for mud and silt in ballast water tanks. Regular ballasting can deposit mud, silt and sediment that build up into a “permanent ballast” if left untreated, causing problems when emptying the tank. Non-polluting, non-toxic, non-corrosive, and effective at low concentrations.
Apply directly to the tank prior to each ballasting operation. For existing accumulations: fill the tank to 50% capacity with seawater, let the ship's rolling motion agitate the solution for 24 hours, then top up, pump out, refill, pump out again and inspect. May be diluted with water in any convenient proportion.
For routine use, dose at 0.5 L per 10 tonnes of ballast water (adjust for contamination severity). For existing accumulations, use up to 1 L per 10-tonne tank capacity.
Usually available in 25 L plastic cans.
